A whimsical pair of contemporary, 18k yellow gold, day and night earrings, whose drops are modeled as miniature scallop shells. These highly-detailed, shell-shaped drops fall from matching, shell-shaped, post tops. Thedainty tops are each fitted with a small shepherd's hook, making it easy to remove the dropping element, so the tops can be worn alone, or with a differentdrop. These earrings are beautifully made— the delicately-ridged shells haverich, matte-finishedlow-points and their raised ridges are high-polished for contrast. A series of four, graduated, pave-set white diamonds runs down the center of each drop. Granulated beads add a subtle Etruscan touch. These were made by The Golden Eye, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They are marked for the maker and for fineness.
